Slim down to Halloween

I think it is time for the annual slim down to Halloween where I attempt to lose weight so I can wear a corset.  Right now I am 134 lb.  My body likes this weight so shaking it out of its routine will be tough.

My diet rules are like last year:

1. No booze Sept 18 through Oct. 9 - 4 weeks of liver detox!!!

2. Eat a Furhmanesque breakfast and lunch followed by a zone dinner.  At least I am going to give some of the Furhman recipes a try and see how they go.  I worry that the dinner recipes will not be filling enough so I am going to add 4 oz. of protein.

3 .Exercise - weights/pilates 3x
 Hike 3x
Yoga - 4x
Ride - 4x

4. Keep a journal of recipes, menu plans and exercise

Starts Tomorrow - wish me luck.

  2. Did I send you Fuhrman's 10 in 20 plan? I really love the recipes in that one, as I'm sure I've told you many times :-).

  3. This sounds like a fine plan. I recommend the cold cucumber/zucchini soup I made tonight with your gift. 2 whole cukes or zucchini, 1 avocado, 1 garlic clove, tbsp olive oil, tsp each salt and curry powder and 1/4 c water. Blend and Garnish with chopped cuke and cherry tomatoes. So easy and only took 10 mins.

  5. Should we post all slim down comments here? Or do a post for each day? Today I had the Fuhrman blended mango salad for breakfast, Curry in a Hurry with quinoa and apple for lunch, and squash soup, chicken sausage, and kraut for dinner. A pretty good day for me! I also did a 30 minute bike workout this am, took the dog for 2 1-mile walks and did my yoga. Yay! Day 1 in the books. Now I need to go upstairs and leave myself alone!!

  6. Day 2! Food was good, not great. Had excellent breakfast, lunch, but alas, very stressful day so overate at dinner. Not bad, though. Dinner was 2 chicken sausages (!!) homemade applesauce (unsweetened), homemade pickles, and kraut. No workout this am but walked the pup twice and did yoga. Will do a hard workout tomorrow am. How are you doing, Ms. Minch?

  7. No drinking, though, good for me. I usually have a beer after a hard day to wash down the double portions. :-)
