It's January

Yes - January.  Otherwise known as diet month.  It's no secret that I packed on a few pounds over the Holidays.

So today I started my diet.  Instead of setting a weight loss goal which will inevitably fail, I am going to call this diet "Three Months of Healthy eating".  Yes until April 8th I plan to eat a very clean healthy diet.  A combo of Furhman and zone type meals, 2/3 vegetarian. No booze, coffee or sweets for the first month.  It started today.

I also have been ramping up the exercise since Christmas - hiking, doing yoga, riding.  I intend on adding Pilates and weights. We will see if that happens this time.
Well, I need to go menu plan.  Wish me luck.  I hope this doesn't happen tomorrow.
What are your New Years plans???  Any healthy resolutions to tackle?

  1. Best wishes to you, Ms. Minch. This is a worthy goal - not thin but healthy. The thin will come with the healthy.

I didn't pack it on over the holiday, but didn't loose either. I've been off the booze since 12/23 and this time, it's for good. Booze adds nothing to my life and I think it has taken away a lot. So this is it. I actually feel really good about this and don't miss it nearly as much as I thought I would. Of course, still very early. But I am determined.

I've also cut way back on meat and all processed foods. Fuhrman is always the goal - such a great way of eating. I don't follow it 100% but a little Fuhrman goes a long way. The goal is to fit back into clothes I haven't been able to wear for a couple of years to save money.

    Keep posting! XO

  2. Saving money is alway a motivator isn't it? Getting into clothes we already have so we do not have to buy pants with an elastic waist band. Now that you are an empty nester, hopefully it will be easier to cook healthy meals and keep the crap out of the house. Good for you giving up the booze. I don't think I can do it for good. His Lordship and I still love sipping an IPA in the evening in a little bar in Manitou. Be sure to share you favorite diet recipes with me.

  3. Great goals and plans both of you!

I have made some changes. Since October, I've been increasingly chronic fatigued. I'm also B12 deficient and my muscles are wasting. So, I'm going on a new program with small but regular amounts of meat, eggs and dairy. I think vegan is great for cleansing and I will continue to cycle into vegan periods, but not long term.

I also did a parasite cleanse last week. Most breast cancer patients have them. Heck 90% of people carry them. We worm our horses, dogs and cats but not ourselves? And, sure enough, I have seen about 7 different worms and amoeba-type things. Ugh. Pretty gross, but after nearly 60 years, glad to clean them out because they are dangerous and no doubt contributing to my malaise.

    1. Hmmm - what did you take to get rid of the worms?

  4. This is a great formula, created by a brilliant pioneering woman who was persecuted by the medical establishment: https://www.drclarkstore.com/dr-hulda-clark-parasite-cleanse.html

Don't expect to see anything the first time - although you might. Do it twice a year.

Also - My body really opened after the addition of a little infrared sauna box. I converted a small closet. Gets body temp up into the 99s and - wow - kills a lot of stuff. Parasites, bacteria, virus. Tumors hate heat. Sweat out a lot of bad stuff too. Most of us are carrying around multiple chronic infections not to mention toxic metals and chemicals.

  5. PS: don't do parasite cleanse if not pooping every day!

  6. So, almost the end of January...how is everyone doing? I have not lost any weight. Big sigh. Just so hard after 50. But feel good, LOTS of energy. I def get in my 10,000+ steps a day, plus additional workouts and yoga. The food is harder. But I will say that, unless husband pays for dinner out, I almost never eat processed food. And try to remember to take the important missing vits every day - B12, D3, K, zinc, iodine. Gonna try the parasite cleanse as no probs in the poop department :-). Let me know how you are doing.

  7. OH the big news is, STILL BOOZE FREE! YEAH ME - 5 weeks! Almost gave in to a craving yesterday as I was alone in the house. Who would know, right? But I didn't and substituted my homemade ginger brew which is delicious, wholesome, and a great booze substitute.

    1. Good for you! Glad you have found a satisfying substitute. We had a great time in Jackson. We had fun hanging with Christina. I almost gave into a draft Melvin but stayed strong my friend so after 3 weeks, I am still booze free. I have 1 week to go. I have dropped the Christmas bloat.
